HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — The 1972 Winnebago RV featured in the fourth season of “Stranger Things” and the sheriff’s 2000 Ford Crown Victoria from “The Walking Dead” will be featured September 22 – 24 for Season 7 of Hot Springs’ Spa-Con pop culture and comics festival.
“Spa-Con had the Hawkins Van from ‘Stranger Things’ last year, and this year Spa-Con will have the RV that Eddie Munson stole in Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things,’” Visit Hot Springs Special Events Manager Alexis Hampo said. “Spa-Con is on a roll.” “Stranger Things” character Eddie stole the Winnebago from an RV park to use as the Hawkins Kids’ mobile base of operations to fight Vecna during Season 4. Hampo said this will be the first convention appearance for the 1972 Winnebago RV since Season 4 of “Stranger Things” aired.
Season 5 is expected to be released on Netflix in 2025. Before it was in “Stranger Things” the RV was driven by Donald Sutherland in the movie “Leisure Seeker.” That movie is streaming now on HBO Max.
Also on hand for Spa-Con fans to enjoy will be the 2000 Ford Crown Victoria sheriff’s car featured in “The Walking Dead” series, Hampo said.
“The car was used by Rick Grimes, one of the main characters of ‘The Walking Dead,’ played by Andrew Lincoln,” she said.
In the show the Ford Crown Vic was found abandoned in the show and Rick took it from the King County Sheriff’s Department to head toward Atlanta.
“’’The Walking Dead had an 11-season run from 2010 to 2022, and had a huge fan base that I’m sure will be very excited to see Rick Grimes’ sheriff car,” Hampo said. It was announced previously that Annabeth Gish, known to “X-Files” fans as Special Agent Monica Reyes, will be a special celebrity guest for Season 7 of Spa-Con. She will be at the Opening Ceremonies, hold a panel discussion with questions from the
fans, and will have professional photo opportunities with attendees. She also will be present in the Expo Hall selling merchandise.
Also announced as special guests at Spa-Con Season 7 are comedian, writer, actor, producer Orlando Jones, who has been called “the King of Fandom” by MTV, and Janeshia Adams-Ginyard, who starred in the blockbuster movies “Black Panther” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” She is known for her role as Nomble, one of the Dora Milaje, in the two hit movies.
