‘X-Files’ Star Annabeth Gish Added As Featured Guest at Spa-Con Season 7 in September

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Annabeth Gish, known to “X-Files” fans as Special Agent Monica Reyes, will be a special celebrith guest September 22 – 24 for Season 7 of Spa-Con, the culture and comics convention in Hot Springs.

“Annabeth Gish has so much to bring to the convention for all types of pop culture fans. From cult classics, ‘Mystic Pizza’ and ‘X-Files’ to Netflix horror hits,’ The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘Midnight Mass,’ Spa-Con is thrilled to have her joining us for Spa-Con Season 7,” said Alexis Hampo, special events manager for Visit Hot Springs. “Who doesn’t love X-Files? It’s a classic.”

Hampo said Gish played Kat, the sister of Julia Roberts’ character, in 1988’s movie “Mystic Pizza” and joined the cast of “X-Files” as Monica Reyes after series star David Duchovny announced his intention to leave the show.

She had a recurring role as the caretaker Mrs. Dudley in the Netflix series “The Haunting of Hill House,” and played Dr. Sarah Gunning in Netflix’s “Midnight Mass.”

“Gish’s most recent role was in 2021,” Hampo said, “and she’s recognizable from so many movies and TV shows. She is spot on for the Spa-Con audience.”

Gish will be present Friday and Saturday of Spa-Con Season 7, Hampo said. She will be at the Opening Ceremonies, hold a panel discussion with questions from the fans, and will have professional photo opportunities with attendees. She also will be present in the Expo Hall selling merchandise.

Previously announced as special guests at Spa-Con Season 7 are comedian, writer, actor, producer Orlando Jones, who has been called “the King of Fandom” by MTV,
