Star of ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘The X-Files, ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ Will Headline Spa-Con Comics and Pop Culture Convention In Hot Springs September 19 – 21

DATE: AUGUST 10, 2025

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Laurie Holden, the star of such hits as “The Walking Dead,” “The X-Files” and “Dumb and Dumber To,” will headline Hot Springs Spa-Con 2025 comics and pop culture convention September 19 – 21.

“Laurie Holden has been in so many shows and films it’s hard to keep track of them all,” Visit Hot Springs Special Events Manager Alexis Hampo said. “Fans have adored her performances in everything from ‘The X-Files’ to ‘The Walking Dead’ to ‘Silent Hill.’

“She was even in the 2005 ‘Fantastic Four’ movie.”

Hampo said Holden’s roles have spanned the spectrum, including Marita Covarrubias in “The X-Files,” Andrea Harrison in AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” and Amanda Dumfries in “The Mist.” She is also known for her roles as Adele Stanton in “The Majestic,” Cybil Bennett in “Silent Hill,” Olivia Murray in “The Shield,” Adele Pinchelow in “Dumb and Dumber To,” Renee in “The Americans,” and the Crimson Countess in “The Boys.”

Holden will hold a question-and-answer session, a free photo session and a VIP meet and greet during the convention, Hampo said, and will sign autographs in the Hot Springs Convention Center Expo Hall September 20 and 21.

“Spa-Con is going to be an absolute blast this year, and I think Laurie is going to be a truly fantastic addition to the convention,” Hampo said. “We think she will appeal to a really large audience. We’ve had such great luck with kind, enthusiastic and personable guests. I’m guessing our guests this year will be no different.”

Spa-Con tickets — $35 for weekend passes and $150 for VIP passes — can be purchased at www.spa-con.org.

Holden will join a large roster of previously announced guest celebrities including:

• Voice actors from the popular “Sailor Moon” television series: Terri Hawkes, Susan Roman and Ron Rubin.

• Peelander-Z, the Japanese action comic punk band from outer space.

•World-renowned costume creator Thomas DePetrillo, famous for his Extreme Costumes developed for Hasbro, Power Rangers, Intel and others.

•Cosplay duo Cowbutt Crunchies, who specialize in complex couture cosplay and incredible pop culture based designs.

• Zeno Robinson, the award-winning actor who voices Hawks in the “My Hero Academia” anime series.

“Spa-Con is going on its ninth year in Hot Springs, so of course it’s going to be a good one,” Hampo said.
